Preparing for the arts workshops

Now we’re well into the exploratory stage of the project, we’re starting to plan the arts workshops - or Ghost Labs - for the next phase of our research. Andrew McMillan (one of the project co-investigators) is leading the poetry workshops and comic book creator and educator, Jim Medway, will be delivering comics workshops at both sites. Jim’s book, Playing Out is set in Manchester and anyone who knows the city will instantly recognise the settings. He’s also worked on lots of community projects, including one with the Bradford Pit Project in Manchester when he ran a drawing workshop with pupils from a local primary school and helped them to create a comic book based on a visit by two miners.
