Reflections

"For me, the Ghost-Lab (G-L) should really emphasise its role as a laboratory: a place of experimental thought and practice, a place where we test out new ideas, and a place where things might not turn out as we expect. Geoff’s assertion that the G-L be a ‘safe space’ resonates with this sense of exploration: we should not be afraid of hunting ghosts that perhaps make us feel uncomfortable or conflicted. If possible, the G-L should avoid repeating work on the lingering trauma of the strike: ultimately, we want the G-L to say something new about how the past haunts the present, in manner that benefits both the researchers and participants. This will of course include the strike, but we should be aware that we might discover other equally powerful hauntings."
